A PCP is a physician who usually is the first health professional to examine a patient and who recommends secondary care providers, medical or surgical specialists with expertise in a specific area.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner is usually a registered nurse who has advanced education in nursing and clinical experience in a specialized practice area. Nurse practitioners collaborate with other health care providers to deliver primary care to patients.
